Cover a roof with soil and plants and you have a green roof. Do this to a shed, outhouse, garage, small roof extension or office/community building and you will have a wildlife habitat that also provides rainwater management, a cooling energy conservation system and of course something that is great to look at!
This inspiring one-day course gives you a great introduction to Green Roofs. It is being organised locally by Transition Leicester, with support of Leicester Friends of the Earth and Leics & Rutland Wildlife Trust, and will be delivered by UK Green Roof pioneers Dusty Gedge and John Little.
The day will include the design, construction and theory of small scale green roofs, and will engage you in new ways of thinking about design! Guaranteed to be inspiring and fun.
There will be a practical workshop to make a mini green roof that you will be able to take home with you.
